Breathe in 1-2-3-4-5, hold 1-2-3-4-5, exhale 1-2-3-4-5. This is the gateway to mindfulness. Paying attention to your breath. Learning to embody peace and detach from the chaos that surrounds you to bring you to a place of empowerment and expansion.
We all have times when we are mindful and others not so much. My aim with mindfulness teachings is to increase the amount of time we spend in the present moment feeling things that uplift us and consciously creating and decrease the amount of time we go about our lives on autopilot and simply manifesting subconsciously in the background.
It doesn’t happen all at once, mindfulness is a practice that starts bit by bit until you realize, hey my mind is not buzzing like it used to, and I’m feeling pretty peaceful and I’m attracting a lot of really great stuff into my life. In my opinion, mindfulness is one of the key components to creating lasting transformation in any area of your life.
There are tons of studies out there that will show you that mindfulness decreased stress and increases focus and happiness so this is one of those spiritual tools that has scientific backing which really helps those that need a logical boost to get on board with something.
Using mindfulness in the same way that a monk might is not usually do-able for our lives, so I love incorporating mindfulness bit by bit and having it spread naturally. There are an insane amount of benefits to prioritizing your practice and one of them is that it will leak out to those around you. They will feel your sense of peace and presence and may have no idea what changed but simply being around you will feel healing. This is also an amazing practice to teach to kids as a tool in life mindfulness will help them in so many circumstances to do what is best for them and to understand how they feel – decreasing stress, anxiety and depression greatly.
The act of being mindful, of being present with how you are feeling yet not being attached to it is a fabulous start, but I encourage you to also incorporate self-love mindfulness. Being kind to yourself and when you notice self-deprecating thoughts choosing to let them pass like a cloud or a car and inviting in a thought that is more self-loving.
With empowerment being at the root of all that I teach (we can only create real change and ascension when we are feeling empowered) and self-love being a crucial part of empowerment it only makes sense that mindfulness is one of the first natural steps to your empowered life.
I invite you to join me for 7 days of mindfulness practices to experience the feelings for yourself and learn how it can support the goals and transformation you crave in your life.
