The New Moon is the perfect time to re-assess your goals and make a list of intentions. This New Moon I chose to set my intentions for what I want to accomplish for the rest of 2016. When you have your intentions set out for a long period of time, it makes it easier to break it down into monthly, weekly and daily steps – to make it manageable. Plus with your energetic intentions, the Universe is on your side.
Below I’ve outlined my personal ritual that I am using throughout today and the next few days to set my intentions. You can do this ANY time of month, but on the week of the New Moon is a really fabulous time.
Feel free to pick through and create your own or even copy word for word my ritual.
#1 Take a few minutes, a coffee, tea or water to sit with and don’t rush this. Write out a list of your intentions for the next 5 months. I ended up with 11 things on my list ranging from specific business things, to personal growth to family. At the end of the list I like to add “This or something better please”
#2 Cut your attachment to outcome. This is pretty big. When we want something super, super bad we can cause resistance to actually receiving it. To remedy this set your intention (call in Archangel Michael or Athena for help with this if you’d like) to release attachment to any specific outcome and to seeing results. This may sound counter-productive but it releases the stress of achieving without disturbing your intention to manifest.
#3 Find out who you’re working with! I like to ask what Angel or Ascended Master is working with me. There will be lots of guides helping you, but I like to focus on one or two – it helps it to feel like more of a team vibe, that can accomplish much more than just myself alone. To find out one of your main guides helping you through these intentions, find the new moon ritual post in my Facebook group and I’ll let you know. Check in with your guide often, and when things get stressful or heavy ask your guide to lighten the load and help you out.
#4 Do something to cleanse yourself and intentionally start to release resistance to receiving the manifestations of your intentions. This consists of 2 parts:
1) Physically clean yourself, shower, wash your hands, soak your feet, have a bath.
2) While you are washing the resistance away ask your guide to help clear the path for you and get rid of more resistance.
You can also take this further, since I am working on some intentions that include expressing myself and using my gifts in a bigger way than ever before I will be creating elixirs that feel like a match for this. Super magical! I love me some Harry Potter style ritual! I’ll prep 3 different elixirs over the next few days. Here is how I will do it:
Prepping your Elixirs
*Please note that not all crystals work well in water. Do some research first. For example you don’t want to add selenite to an elixir since you would be drinking shards of it – NOT OK. If you add hematite to water it will start to oxidize. *
First will be my throat chakra focused elixir: I use a blue glass bottle (blue glass, not blue painted glass) as well as a cleaned aquamarine crystal (soaked in sea salt water overnight). I add water to the blue bottle and add in the aquamarine crystal. I then set it out in the sun and leave it there (covered by cloth and elastic to keep bugs out) for 24 hours. I like to leave it under the New Moon as well as in the sun, since I’m piggy-backing off the healing blue solar water as well as an elixir. Then (THIS IS IMPORTANT) set your intentions. What do you want this elixir to bring you? Expression, clear communication, creativity, calling in your tribe? Your intentions are of mucho importance as you complete any ritual.
Second will be much the same as the above, but I will be using a clear glass bottle with a crystal called seraphinite in it, soaked the same as the above. Again cleaning it first and setting my intentions. For this one my intentions will be to appreciate what I am growing. To nurture both myself, my family, my clients and my business. This one expands my heart chakra.
Third, again in a clear glass bottle, this time I’ll be using clear quartz in the water to help with powering up my intentions, my focus and concentration on achieving them. Also to expand my awareness of what is possible.
#4 Visualize yourself as having achieved your intentions. How will you feel. Bask in the feelings for a while and to really get things moving set an alarm on your phone to do this twice daily for like 2-5 minutes each time. This starts to match your vibe to that of your desire.
#5 Get to real world action. I will be THE first to say that all the above ritual is Ah-mazing. It feels good, it’s fun and the energy really does give you a huge push forward HOWEVER >>> if you don’t take the physical steps, get outside of your comfort zone and listen to your intuition the Universe doesn’t generally just ‘deliver’ what you want. You need to grow and expand to meet it half way! So the real world action is this:
Take your list of intentions.
Find one intention that would make the BIGGEST positive impact on your life.
Decide what you can do this month to move closer to it.
Decide what you can do this week to move closer to it.
Decide what you can do today to move closer to it.
NOW MOVE. Go do that thing and mark in your calendar, in your phone, on your mirror anywhere you’ll see it to keep taking consistent actions towards your intentions. You don’t have to know exactly how to get to your destination – but as long as you can take one step – even if you feel your old patterns getting in the way – you are making progress and moving towards meeting the Universe half way. Add your intentions somewhere you will see them often.
I love the idea of re-visiting my intentions on the Full Moon to release resistance to them, and again on the next New Moon to adjust my intentions or re-affirm them. I like the IDEA of this, but my life and body are not always as co-operative. So go with it – ritual this month and see how it goes next month.
